Gem Shield 9-Year Ceramic Coating Now Available at Our Caldwell Shop

We’ve been running the Gem Shield 9-Year flagship ceramic system through trial installs since November 2025. As of this month, it’s officially in regular rotation as our top-tier ceramic coating offering — available through Gemstar’s car detailing shop in Caldwell on standard scheduling.

What Makes the 9-Year Different

The 9-year flagship is a different chemistry than our 1-, 3-, and 5-year tiers. It runs a higher SiO2 (silicon dioxide) percentage, cures at higher hardness (9H rated), and includes a second-layer top coat that significantly extends the gloss-retention window. The manufacturer-backed warranty runs nine years from install date when properly maintained.

What’s Included on Every 9-Year Install

• Three-stage paint correction — heavy compound, refining polish, jeweling polish — included by default.
• Multi-stage decontamination — foam pre-soak, two-bucket hand wash, iron remover, clay bar.
• Multi-light defect inspection with full documentation of paint readings before and after correction.
• Two-layer ceramic application — base layer plus top coat, with controlled flash-time between.
• Climate-controlled cure for 24 hours minimum before delivery.
• Free 30-day, 6-month, and annual maintenance washes at our Caldwell shop.
• 9-year manufacturer-backed warranty with proper aftercare.

Pricing

Starts at $2,499 for sedans and small SUVs. Full-size SUVs, trucks, and high-mileage paint with significant existing damage may run higher — quoted in writing per vehicle. Realistic ceiling for most clients is in the $3,000–$3,500 range.

If you’re 1–3 years from selling the vehicle, the 1-year or 3-year tier is usually the better economic call. We’ll talk through what fits before quoting.

Capacity

We can run 1–2 nine-year installs per week. That number caps where it does because the three-stage correction and the two-layer application both take time we won’t shortcut. Booking 3–4 weeks in advance is normal for the flagship; sooner is better through the spring season.
